Suggestion Description: Let other people leave feedback on staff applications (only). Since this person has a chance to be assigned as a staff member it's always good to know what his stance in the community is, or so that some things come up that might put you off from accepting them. Any abuse of this would result in a warning. As long as people can give feedback on staff applications and say how they feel about a certain person getting staff or not, either due to experiences they have had with that person, or discrepancies they know about in their applications. None of that "I like this person +support" . But rather actual experiences that shows positive or negative experiences or behaviour. As some of the situations might be made up either for promoting the applicant or to slander the applicant, these comments or experiences should not be taken too seriously. But as long as you can sense the general vibe of what people think of the staff member, it can save a whole lot of hassle rather than those problems coming out in the future once the mentoring and interviewing stage has been completed.
I would say only let staff members give feedback on applications. Limits the troll -supports.Last Edit 2020-06-30 10:09:10 by ZlatozarBG
On a server I used to play on this was allowed and was amazing, there were staff applications that were denied for things that wouldn’t have been found otherwise. It’s good to know if half the player base thinks someone’s a toxic mess or if someone lies about something in their application that someone else can disprove.
People should be allowed to speak their opinion so we don't get twats as staff.
Please, and in that case enforce a rule regarding it.
As so many staff members have said earlier - they want to minimize the unnecessary interaction on more enclosed threads (appeals, staff apps, etc.)
And if the applicant would indeed be a "twat", as Holmander so insightfully said, they would get yeet'd out the staff-team anyway.
So the comments from non-staff is irrelevant.
- And any hidden dirt etc., as Orbit talked about, can as always be send directly to HA, and then they will take it into consideration.
I came from a community where it was like this and a lot of the time it was fine but not really beneficial. It would cause issues every so often where groups of people would slander and flood a person's application and thus end up causing arguments on there, negatively impacting the person's application, which in many cases was unjustified.
And I agree with Westwood, if you have very solid proof that someone has lied in their application, you can easily just send it directly to a Head Admin. There's no real use for things like that to be posted on the forums.
-1 Would just cause arguments against people if you start sharing your thoughts on a staff app.Last Edit 2020-07-01 19:55:46 by Owen
If you have a problem with the person who is trying to become staff. You can DM a HA and tell him about the situations that you've dealt with that specified person. Just like any job application, the person making it, makes it to look good. They list all their accomplishments, why they should be hired for the job, etc. It wouldn't be fair to the person trying to apply if a bunch of people went onto his application and started saying bad things about him. The application itself should only be between two direct people, the one making it and the one reviewing it. Again just like any job application the one reviewing it will then start doing research on the applicant. Make sure they haven't acted up recently, that their history has been good. So there is no need for people to respond to the application anyways, as the person reviewing it can just do it on their own. It's already pretty obvious as well to know if the person applying is not really liked in the community and the HA will be able to figure that out. As well staff members already go around talking about someone or a situation they've been in with someone in there own discord. So HA also can look at that and see what other staff members think about the person and why.
